The Tree House is a 1300-square-foot townhouse located in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. Our guiding principle in this project was to improve the quality of light and air flowing throughout, creating an expansive feeling in an otherwise narrow space. The townhouse features a newly-designed open staircase system, angled skylights on the top floor, and an all-glass facade in the rear which connects nature and ‘stretches from Earth to the sky,’ as written by Gaston Bachelard in The Poetics of Space.
